I awoke this morning and checked my email to find an email that I quote below:

"Another resrouce i just found, that might be of
interest to you, Register.com are offering a free
domain name for a year, i know the offer is good
cause i have used it a few times, just remove
all the extras that they offer, and take the
domain name, and its yours for free Joseph Anderson"

First I will get past the misspelled "resrouce" and get right to the meat of the BS.

Oh yes - you can get a fr/ee domain name for a year from these people but when you go to renew the domain name is where the fun begins (sarcasm)

Get a fr/ee domain name from us for a year, build your business or web site on that domain, and when the year is up and it is time to renew - we will stick it to you with a relatively large renewal fee. (more sarcasm)

I am sure that a lot of folks will fall for this BS and then end up renewing at what we feel is an outrageous price rather then lose the domain, and these folks at this registry are counting on this "penny wise pound foolish" way of thinking.

.net	- A good one to have if the .com is taken. Not just for technical providers like ISPs
.org	- Recommended for not-for-profit organizations
